It is very important to keep cabinet surfaces dry.
Clean any spills immediately with a dry cloth. It is best to use a blotting motion. Avoid "wiping" the spill from the cabinet surface. Pay special attention to areas around sinks and dishwashers where water is common. Make sure to not allow any liquid to dry on a cabinet surface.
Moisture is one of the worst enemies of any wood finish.
DO NOT lay wet towels over cabinet doors.
DO NOT attach towel racks to doors.
DO NOT place any appliance that creates steam where the steam will directly impact cabinet surfaces.
DO immediately dry off any areas where water has spilled with a "blotting" motion.
Chemicals and Detergents should also be avoided in the care of your new cabinets
DO NOT use a dishcloth or sponge to clean your new cabinet surfaces. These can contain remnants of harsh detergents that can harm the finish.
DO NOT use ammonia-based cleaners, soaps with dye, abrasive cleaners, or self-polishing waxes (such as Pledge) especially any that contain silicone.
Revitalizing oils are not recommended.
We recommend the use of a mild soap and water solution in a spray bottle.
Spray the lint-free cotton cloth with the solution and then gently clean your cabinets.
DO NOT spray directly on the cabinet surface.
Always Promptly dry the surface with a dry lint-free cotton cloth afterwards.
You can also use a quality cleaner such as Guardsman branded products.
Never use scouring pads, magic erasers, steel wool, or powdered cleaners. These cleaning methods may penetrate the surface, allowing moisture and other contaminants to cause deterioration of the finish on your new cabinets.
Wood cabinets and their finishes are only as good as the care they receive.
Proper care as we recommend will extend the life and beauty of your cabinetry.
